Michael Hall

I’m an economist and data analyst with experience working on real-world policy, business, and research projects. I’ve worked as an economic consultant across government and private sector projects, and I also teach economics, helping students understand both theory and how it’s applied in practice. My background is in Economics, with an MSc (Distinction), and I specialise in data analysis, econometrics, and policy evaluation. In my professional work, I’ve analysed everything from the economic impact of major policies like Brexit, to healthcare trials, environmental risks, and large infrastructure projects. I use tools like R, Python, and STATA to analyse data, build models, and test ideas. For example, I’ve: Evaluated government programmes using advanced statistical methods Analysed clinical trial data to understand cost-effectiveness Built economic models to assess policy and investment decisions Developed interactive dashboards to communicate results clearly I also work a lot with real datasets, including survey data and administrative data, so I can show you how the concepts you learn are actually used in practice.
